The legendary 2008 National Basketball Association champion with the Boston Celtics, 47-year-old Paul Pierce, was handcuffed by highway patrol officers in California. This became known thanks to TMZ.
According to the publication, on Tuesday, October 7, Pierce was found sleeping at the wheel of his jeep on the highway near Los Angeles. The police noticed signs of alcohol influence and began an investigation into driving under the influence.
The basketball star was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and taken to the Los Angeles police station.
Pierce played in the NBA All-Star Game ten times and was selected to the All-NBA Team four times. The number 34 he played with has been retired by Boston.
