Liliia Sandulesa's Anger Over Ivo Bobul's Interview

According to Главком: Ukrainian National Artist Liliia Sandulesa has expressed outrage following a recent interview by singer Ivo Bobul, in which he discussed details of their past marriage. The couple was married for a decade before their union ended in 2002. Sandulesa pointed out that nearly 25 years have passed since their split and she did not expect Ivo to revisit these matters publicly.

In her own interview with Rostyslav Kalatsinsky, Liliia Sandulesa emphasized that she has never commented on their relationship, except for one interview for ZHL. She stated:

"It's been almost 25 years since we parted ways, and he has given many, many interviews. I haven't given a single one, except for one in ZHL, and even then I spoke normally because I simply didn't want to touch on his affairs, I didn't want to... In general, I didn't have... That's it, we don't live together anymore, let him live his own life."

The Fallout from Bobul's Comments

Liliia also described Bobul's comments as 'crap on her head.' The situation has become a topic of discussion, especially as their marriage produced no children, and during their relationship, the pair performed as a duo that created popular hits like 'The Lime Trees Are Blooming' and 'The Shore of Love.' After reuniting in 2024 for a series of joint concerts, the artists have since parted ways again.

In his interview, Ivo Bobul also evaluated the work of other Ukrainian singers, notably calling Ani Lorak and Taisia Povaliy wonderful vocalists, though he faced criticism from lyricist Yevhen Rybchynsky for these remarks. Liliia Sandulesa, for her part, voiced her dissatisfaction and indignation that discussion of their past has become public.

This episode highlights the complex dynamics between former partners in the entertainment industry, where private matters often become public fodder. Public commentary on past relationships can be perceived as an invasion of privacy, provoking negative emotions in those trying to move forward. Given the long history of both professional collaboration and personal ties between Sandulesa and Bobul, this public airing of grievances could have lasting implications for their reputations and careers. The duo was once a major act in Ukrainian pop music, making their ongoing discord particularly notable for fans.
