UK to Supply Electronic Warfare Technologies to Ukraine After Zelenskyy-Burnham Meeting

According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy traveled to Britain on July 27 for talks with newly appointed Prime Minister Andy Burnham aboard the Royal Navy's aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth in Portsmouth. This meeting was Burnham's first with a foreign leader since taking office. The UK has been a steadfast ally to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war, and this visit reinforced their ongoing defense partnership. During the discussions, the two sides focused on protecting Ukraine's skies and seas, as well as expanding joint defense manufacturing.

"We greatly value that our team's visit to Britain is the first since Andy Burnham assumed office. This is an important show of support, and the Prime Minister assured us that this support remains unwavering," stated Zelenskyy.

A key outcome of the meeting was London's decision to transfer electronic warfare (EW) technologies to Ukraine. The president remarked: "I am grateful to Britain for today's decision to provide EW technologies for the protection of Ukrainian drones. It will certainly be useful on the battlefield. Together we can accomplish even more in drone and other tech sectors."

Strengthening Ukraine-UK Relations

Zelenskyy also highlighted the deepening ties between Ukraine and Britain, which he described as the strongest in the history of their cooperation during the full-scale war:

"Over the years of full-scale war, we have built the most robust relationship in the entire history of Ukraine-UK cooperation. Our key priorities are air defense, maritime security, and joint defense production-partnerships that fortify both countries," he said.

As part of the visit, a meeting was scheduled with Ukrainian soldiers, including participants in the Sea Breeze exercises, underscoring the significance of military collaboration between the nations.
