Lviv has added five low-floor buses: on which routes they operate

In Lviv, five new large low-floor buses with air conditioning have begun operating on routes №31 and №14. The update aims to make trips more comfortable and increase the share of accessible transport. This year, the city has significantly updated its bus fleet. This is reported by Gal-info citing the Lviv City Council.

On which routes in Lviv the new buses appeared

Three new large buses have begun operating on route №31. It connects the railway station with the Halytske intersection, and transportation is provided by the private operator JSC “ATP-14630”.

Two more buses have started operating on route №14. It runs between Antonovych street and the “Zakhidna” bus station. This route is serviced by LLC “Mira i K”.

All five vehicles are low-floor and equipped with air conditioning systems. This design simplifies boarding for wheelchair users, elderly passengers, and parents with strollers.

“The launch of additional modern transportation is aimed at increasing the comfort of passenger transport and increasing the share of inclusive transport in the city,” said Oleg Partika, head of the Transport Management of the Lviv City Council.

The update of the rolling stock is taking place against the backdrop of a staffing shortage among carriers. Earlier, the municipal ATP №1 reported about 80 vacancies for bus drivers, which makes it difficult to fully utilize some of the available vehicles on routes.

Since the beginning of 2026, municipal and private carriers in Lviv have brought about 160 large low-floor buses to the city routes.

As a result, over 80% of the public transport in the city is already adapted for passengers with limited mobility. This concerns not only the buses but the overall share of accessible rolling stock on city routes.

For passengers, this means a gradual increase in the chances of getting low-floor transport on a regular route, rather than just on select designated routes.

At the same time, the further increase in the number of vehicles on the lines will depend not only on the procurement or attraction of buses but also on the availability of drivers. The staffing issue remains one of the main constraints for public transport in Lviv.
