Iran has accumulated uranium for nuclear weapons
Міжнародна агенція з атомної енергії висловила занепокоєння щодо запасів урану в Ірані, що наближаються до ознак військового використання, та обмежень на перевірки.

Statements from the IAEA Director General

According to Главком: The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, has expressed serious concern, stating that Iran has amassed a stockpile of uranium enriched to near-weapons-grade levels. Grossi further noted that Iran is not providing IAEA inspectors with full access, which severely hampers the monitoring of the country's nuclear activities. He emphasized that the IAEA cannot verify that Iran's nuclear program is exclusively for peaceful purposes.

Ongoing Issues and Challenges

In his remarks, Grossi confirmed that an underground uranium enrichment plant at Natanz had sustained damage. Despite these issues, monitoring in countries bordering Iran has not detected any increase in radiation levels above normal background readings.

'I have been very clear and consistent in my reporting on Iran's nuclear program: while there is no evidence that Iran is building a nuclear bomb, its large stockpile of uranium enriched to near-weapons-grade levels, coupled with its refusal to grant my inspectors full access, is a matter of grave concern.' Rafael Grossi

The issue of Iran's nuclear program remains a critical point in international diplomacy, with significant potential to escalate tensions across the Middle East. Grossi's statements underscore that the IAEA continues to monitor the situation closely and highlights the urgent need for greater international cooperation to ensure transparency and security. This development comes amid stalled efforts to revive the international nuclear agreement with Iran, heightening global apprehension.

As nuclear enrichment capabilities advance, it is imperative for nations to maintain dialogue and seek peaceful resolutions to prevent potential conflict.
