Nearly 20 countries conducted a special operation against pro-Russian hackers who attacked Ukraine
According to glavcom.ua: Ukraine and several other countries united in operations against pro-Russian cybercriminals of the NoName057(16) network. According to Europol, this action led to the destruction of part of the infrastructure used by hackers for attacks on the internet.
The operation officially called 'Eastwood' was conducted from July 14 to 17. During it, more than 100 servers of cybercriminals were disabled. Two suspects were also arrested in France and Spain, and seven arrest warrants were issued in Germany and Spain.
According to Europol, NoName057(16) actively attacked Ukraine and other countries that support it in the fight against Russian aggression.
Cyberattacks and counterattacks
The NoName057(16) group is known for its cyberattacks on government websites, media, and companies in Ukraine, the USA, and Europe. They operate as a group of activists supporting the pro-Kremlin agenda in the West.
Earlier, Ukrainian hackers together with the Ukrainian Cyber Alliance and the intelligence agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine identified the Gaskar Group and compromised their information on unmanned aerial vehicles.
