Ukraine won its first medals at the European Weightlifting Championship

According to glavcom.ua: At the European Weightlifting Championship for juniors and youth, Ukrainian athletes showed excellent results. Kateryna Malashchuk won a bronze medal in the snatch, fourth place in the clean and jerk, and another bronze medal in the total in the under-48 kg category among junior girls.

Kateryna also set European records among girls under 17 in the clean and jerk and in the total.

In total, the Ukrainian team placed tenth in the medal tally of the festival. Ukrainian athletes secured 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals.

The performance of Ukrainian athletes at the European Youth Olympic Festival was the second most successful in history. At this tournament, the Ukrainian team won 25 medals, which is a record result.

The most medals for Ukraine were earned in judo – this sport brought the team six medals. Additionally, victories in swimming, athletics, taekwondo, shooting, artistic gymnastics, and table tennis contributed to the overall result.

Ukrainian athletes have conquered Europe in weightlifting and demonstrated impressive results at the European Youth Olympic Festival, setting new records and achieving the most successful performance in history. The medals won are a significant achievement for Ukrainian sports and the young talented athletes of the country.
