Overnight Missile and Drone Assault on Ukraine

In the early hours of February 20, 2025, Russian forces launched a large-scale combined missile and drone attack against Ukraine. In the village of Radushne, Dnipropetrovsk region, a family of five-both parents and three children-was killed. Two of the children were rescued from beneath the rubble. A ballistic missile destroyed the family's home. Search and rescue operations are also underway in Lviv, where a residential building was hit. As of this report, at least eight people have been confirmed dead across the country, with dozens wounded receiving medical care.

Regions Hit by the Night Strikes

Ten regions of Ukraine came under fire during the night, including:

  • Kyiv and the surrounding region
  • Dnipropetrovsk region
  • Lviv region
  • Poltava region
  • Kharkiv region
  • Mykolaiv region
  • Sumy region
  • Vinnytsia region
  • Cherkasy region
  • Ivano-Frankivsk region

Dozens of residential buildings, civilian enterprises, and infrastructure facilities were damaged or destroyed. The assault involved more than 70 missiles, many of them ballistic, as well as over 280 attack drones. Ukrainian air defenses managed to shoot down more than 260 of the drones. Additionally, combat aircraft and mobile fire teams intercepted a significant number of cruise missiles. Rescue crews continue to clear debris in Lviv, searching for anyone who may still be trapped. The situation remains critical, and rescue operations are ongoing.
