According to glavcom.ua: First Lady of the United States Melania Trump faced a wave of criticism after advertising the Unity Bag for $2800. Displeased Americans believe that such a move is extremely inappropriate during times of widespread crisis. Although the bag is made for charity, many people did not accept such a gesture from her.
Furthermore, only a quarter of the proceeds go to charity, while the price of such a luxury item exceeds the capabilities of most citizens. Responses to the First Lady's post show that in conditions of social tension, such moves can only escalate the situation and damage her reputation.
