Mykolaiv resident sentenced to 15 years for treason: passed information to Russian special services

According to Главком: The Zavodskyi District Court of Mykolaiv found a local resident guilty of treason for passing information to Russian special services. The court proceedings revealed that the accused sent messages via Telegram to a representative of the Russian special services in April and August 2024. The man was detained in October 2024.

The accused, who was born in Kaliningrad, Russian Federation, moved to Mykolaiv. He acquired Russian citizenship in 1991, but in 2008, for the purpose of registering a marriage with a citizen of Ukraine, he provided a Ukrainian passport. The court sentenced him to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
