Local Budget Transfer Adjustment
According to Мінфін: In May, Ukraine’s Ministry of Finance allocated UAH 29.2 billion in transfers to the general fund of local budgets. This figure represents a UAH 9 billion increase compared to April and reaches 99.9% of the planned disbursement schedule, indicating consistent funding stability for municipalities.
Financial Health of Local Budgets
As of June 1, 2026, balances in the accounts of local budgets and budgetary institutions-covering both general and special funds-stood at UAH 138.1 billion. That is UAH 42.9 billion higher than at the start of 2026, suggesting an improvement in the financial position of regional authorities.
The rise in transfer payments to local budgets, coupled with growing account balances, points to positive trends in regional financing. This steady flow of funds can help local governments implement programs and projects more effectively, ultimately supporting infrastructure development and social services across the regions. Such stability is crucial for adapting the economy to current challenges and enhancing residents’ quality of life.
In addition to the significant increase in local budget transfers, recent reports indicate that customs revenues have surged by 24%, providing a further boost to Ukraine's state budget. This growth in revenue not only enhances the financial stability of the government but also creates additional opportunities for funding essential services and infrastructure projects across the country.
