Ukraine’s Interior Minister Holds Talks with Azerbaijan’s Ambassador

According to МВС: Ivan Vyhivskyi, Ukraine’s Minister of Internal Affairs, met with Seymur Mardaliyev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Ukraine. A key topic during their discussion was the recent death of an Azerbaijani citizen, who was a victim of a Russian missile strike on Kyiv during the early hours of Monday. Vyhivskyi highlighted that since the beginning of this year, Russian forces have launched over 70,000 attacks against Ukraine.

Appreciation and Ongoing Cooperation

The minister expressed deep gratitude to Azerbaijan for its consistent support throughout the full-scale conflict, which has included the provision of equipment, machinery, and humanitarian aid.

“We sincerely thank the Embassy of Azerbaijan, its Government, and people for their assistance from the outset of this war, particularly for supplying vital equipment and humanitarian initiatives,” Vyhivskyi remarked.

Significant humanitarian efforts have included organizing two rehabilitation trips to Azerbaijan for children of Ukrainian Interior Ministry servicemen and cadets, with another visit planned soon.

Additionally, the meeting focused on preparing several bilateral agreements, especially targeting enhanced cooperation in combating crime.

“It is crucial to accelerate this collaboration to ensure shared security,” Vyhivskyi emphasized.

This encounter underscores the vital role of international partnerships for Ukraine amid ongoing conflict, as well as Ukraine’s commitment to strengthening ties with Azerbaijan. Joint efforts in security and crime prevention are pivotal for both nations, given the broader regional challenges and security threats Ukraine continues to confront.
