The Ministry of Development and UNICEF to strengthen cooperation: how it will affect water supply

Anmeeting was held on Tuesday between the Deputy Prime Minister for the Recovery of Ukraine - Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba and the Head of the UNICEF Representation in Ukraine Munir Mamedzade. Issues of the heating season, water supply, and wastewater disposal in frontline regions were discussed.

Also participating in the meeting were the deputies of the Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine and the head of the State Agency for Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine. Oleksii Kuleba emphasized the importance of supporting frontline communities for their recovery and development.

“We highly value UNICEF's assistance, particularly in supporting children and youth in frontline regions. Our priority is to provide communities with resources for recovery. And we are ready to expand cooperation to strengthen infrastructure and respond to new challenges together,” noted Oleksii Kuleba.

Strengthening cooperation in the field of water supply and heating

The meeting also discussed the progress of the heating season amid constant attacks on infrastructure and the supply of equipment for the operation of water supply systems in crisis conditions. Emphasis was placed on the decentralization of heating systems and the supply of water supply enterprises, as well as on supporting residents, especially children and youth, in frontline communities.

The meeting highlighted the importance of cooperation between the Ministry of Development and UNICEF in preventing a humanitarian crisis in frontline regions and strengthening infrastructure for local communities.
