Moldova asked Ukraine to help stabilize the water level in the Dniester
The Minister of Ecology of Moldova stated that due to a technical failure at the hydroelectric power station, the water discharge into the Dniester had to be limited, but the problem has already been resolved. Now Moldova needs more water to stabilize the hydrological regime, so the country has turned to Ukraine with a request.
According to glavcom.ua: After disruptions at the Dubossarskaya hydroelectric power station, operated by the authorities of the unrecognized Transnistria, Moldova turned to Ukraine with a request to increase the water discharge into the Dniester. This was stated by the Minister of Ecology of the country, Sergiu Lazarenco, reports 'Glavkom'.
The governments of Ukraine and Moldova signed an agreement to build a road bridge over the Dniester in the area of the towns of Yampol - Koseuts. The new bridge will be built at the Ukrainian-Moldovan state border near the towns of Yampol (Ukraine) - Koseuț (Moldova). It will become a key link in the transport corridor between Kyiv and Chișinău.
This bridge construction agreement will facilitate the development of transport communication between Ukraine and Moldova, providing a convenient route from Kyiv to Chișinău. The new bridge will be modernized and will meet all necessary standards, including accessibility for people with disabilities.
Ukraine and Moldova continue to cooperate to improve infrastructure and ecological stability in the region.
