Until February 1, 2023, Ukrainians were allowed to enter Moldova based on their identification and through the Moldovan-Romanian border and Chisinau airport.

Now, citizens of Ukraine are allowed to enter Moldova from Romania, having only an identification card, reports Newsmaker.

'An ID card or regular internal passport or other identity documents (Ukrainian citizen ID issued by the Ukrainian embassy in Moldova, temporary identity document issued by the Migration Bureau, driver's license, residence permit, military ID, and similar)', the message states.

Border crossing is also allowed with copies of these documents, electronic format documents, or documents that have expired.

Previously, these documents were sufficient only when entering Moldova from Ukraine. The National Commission has supplemented the decision on the entry procedure for Ukrainian citizens, adopted on February 24.

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, more than 6.8 million people have left Ukraine. European countries provide our citizens with temporary shelters and payments that can help until they return home or find sources of income in the new country.
