Arrest of the head of the TCC in Ivano-Frankivsk region
According to ХВИЛЯ: In Ivano-Frankivsk region, the head of the district territorial center of recruitment (TCC) was arrested on suspicion of brutally beating a conscript, which led to severe consequences. The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) conducted an investigation into complaints related to beatings, torture, and extortion of money in one of the Transcarpathian TCCs.
In one case, the lieutenant colonel inflicted at least five targeted strikes to the groin area on the victim. As a result of this attack, the victim sustained serious bodily injuries that required surgical intervention, including the removal of one of the organs (orchiectomy).
Legal consequences and investigation
The official was informed of suspicion under the article 'abuse of power in conditions of martial law, which caused serious consequences' (part 5 of article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to bail. Law enforcement officers are also checking the possible involvement of other persons in illegal actions.
This case highlights the seriousness of the problem of abuses in military structures in Ukraine, especially in conditions of martial law. At the same time, it demonstrates the activity of law enforcement agencies in investigating cases of violence and corruption. The investigation may lead to further arrests and the disclosure of a larger number of criminal actions taking place in the TCC, which society is eagerly awaiting. This may also affect citizens' trust in military institutions and their representatives.
