According to Главком: The Kyiv region is facing a deterioration in weather conditions, with snowfalls, wet snow, fog, and icy conditions expected until January 10. As a result, local authorities are taking safety measures for drivers, including restrictions for heavy vehicles and the organization of mobile heating points.

Weather forecast and safety measures

According to the forecast, during the period from January 8 to January 10, sharp temperature fluctuations, significant wet snow with rain, as well as icing and icy conditions are expected in Kyiv region. On January 9, significant snowfall and blizzards corresponding to the first danger level are also forecasted. This creates potential risks for road traffic.

In order to ensure road traffic safety on state roads, 56 special parking spots for vehicles have already been prepared. Additionally, six mobile assistance points will operate in the territories of Bilotserkivskyi, Boryspilskyi, Fastivskyi, Obukhivskyi, Brovarskyi, and Buchansky districts.

The addresses of the mobile heating points on the highways include:

  • M-01 (km 56+100)
  • M-03 (km 117+400, km 118+200)
  • M-05 (km 40+800, km 89+026)
  • M-06 (km 63+600)
  • ROUND on the city of Kagarlyk

These measures are aimed at ensuring comfort and safety for drivers in adverse weather conditions. Authorities urge all road participants to exercise caution on the roads during these days.
