In Mykolaiv region, the chief of staff 'counted' 8 million UAH 'combat' – DBR
According to glavcom.ua: A staff officer from Mykolaiv region is suspected of organizing a fraudulent scheme. Employees of the State Bureau of Investigations have completed a pre-trial investigation regarding the chief of staff of one of the military units in Mykolaiv region, who is suspected of organizing a scheme for illegal allocation of combat payments. His brother, who held the position of a unit commander, was also involved in this scheme. According to the investigation, between March and June 2024, they forged documents, entering false information about the participation of servicemen in combat actions.
Another official of the unit - the assistant chief of staff - helped them in this scheme.
These actions led to damages of almost 8 million UAH. The suspects have been informed of suspicion on charges of abuse of office and service forgery. They face up to 6 years in prison. The materials regarding the third participant have been transferred to a separate proceeding. The goal of the investigation is to recover the damages caused to the state through a relevant civil lawsuit.
Evading mobilization detected and terminated
DBR staff uncovered and dismantled a scheme to evade mobilization, organized in one of the district military registration and enlistment offices in Zaporizhzhia. During 2024-2025, more than 1,500 men evaded mobilization by paying employees for their removal from the wanted list of military conscripts.
Fake protocols were drawn up regarding voluntary appearance at the military registration and enlistment office to avoid military service.
The scheme for organizing illegal allocation of combat payments and evasion of mobilization has been identified and terminated. The suspects face imprisonment for abuse of office and service forgery, as well as restitution for damages caused to the state.
