Transit to four checkpoints allowed in Odesa region during curfew
The restrictions on transit traffic during the curfew have been lifted in the Odesa region for several international checkpoints. Travel along the designated route is permitted around the clock in both directions, reports Visit Ukraine.
The new rules apply to all types of vehicles. At the same time, the decision does not lift the curfew in the region overall, and only concerns transit trips to the border and back.
How night transit works in Odesa in August 2026
The allowed route runs from the Kyiv highway via the bypass road around Odesa and then along state roads to the international checkpoints.
Around-the-clock travel is also permitted in the reverse direction: from the border through Odesa region to the Kyiv highway. This allows drivers of passenger cars, buses, and trucks to plan transit without being tied to night restriction hours.
Drivers should keep in mind that the permit specifically applies to travel along designated transit roads. Free movement within the settlements of the region during the curfew remains restricted.
Which checkpoints in Odesa can be accessed round the clock
Night transit is permitted to four international checkpoints in the directions of Moldova and Romania:
-
«Palanka»;
-
«Starokozache»;
-
«Orlivka»;
-
«Reni».
The changes are expected to simplify trips for passengers and carriers traveling through Odesa to Moldova and Romania or returning to Ukraine. It is advisable to check the current road conditions and operating hours of the chosen checkpoint before departure.
Recall that on the night of August 9, Russian forces launched a massive strike on the Odesa region, resulting in damage to energy facilities, and some consumers in Odesa and the region were left without electricity.
