In the Odessa region, a corrupt customs officer was detained: more than 270 thousand hryvnias in bribery involved

According to glavcom.ua: The Odessa customs is once again at the center of a scandal! A service person working in the State Customs Service of Ukraine has been suspected of extortion and receiving a bribe of more than 270 thousand hryvnias. According to the accusation, using her position, she forced representatives of two companies to buy her off or else promised to improve their situation at customs.

The woman was announced as a suspect back in mid-August under part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and the next day the court decided to keep her in custody with the possibility of posting bail. The preliminary investigation in this scandalous case is being conducted by specialists from the State Bureau of Investigations and the Security Service of Ukraine in the Odessa region.

It is worth noting that this is not the first such incident at customs, therefore the issue of combating corruption in this body must remain relevant.
