Uncovering a criminal organization in Prykarpattia

According to Главком: A criminal organization was uncovered in Prykarpattia, which appropriated over 71 million UAH of budget funds in the heat supply sector of Ivano-Frankivsk in 2021-2023. During the investigation, police collected evidence of involvement of five members of the criminal organization in this crime. Based on this, the founder and officials of the companies were informed of suspicion.

The criminal organization operating in Prykarpattia created a number of controlled companies that obtained licenses for renting boilers and heat networks. These companies provided heating for about 25% of Ivano-Frankivsk residents. During their activities, the directors of the newly established enterprises submitted documents with fictitious indicators, enabling the transfer of funds from the budget to the accounts of the controlled companies.

Currently, efforts are ongoing to identify other individuals involved in this criminal scheme. In addition, on January 7, police uncovered a 21-year-old foreigner in Odesa who set fire to a vehicle of a public organization on order. The foreigner faces up to 10 years of imprisonment. The situation indicates serious problems in the control system over the use of budgetary funds in the heat supply sector.
