The longest coal conveyor in Russia burnt down in Sakhalin

A fire occurred on the coal conveyor in the village of Nikolskoye, Sakhalin region. According to Governor Fyodor Filin, the fire started due to a technical malfunction in the equipment. The reasons for the incident will be established after a thorough investigation. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the fire has already been localized. Media reports state that 200 meters of the conveyor belt were destroyed.

As a result of this incident, the length of the main coal conveyor, which connects the Sontsovsky pit with the seaport of Shakhtyorsk on the western coast of Sakhalin, has decreased by 23 kilometers. Investments in this project amounted to over 7 billion rubles, and it was planned to be completed this year. However, the launch will be delayed due to the fire.

Unfortunately, in other events, terrorists fired at a locomotive on the Dnipropetrovsk railway that was transporting civilian cargo. The incident occurred in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where the driver was killed, and his assistant was injured.

As a result of the fire on the coal conveyor in Russia, a main conveyor 23 km long connecting the pit and port on Sakhalin Island has been destroyed. The incident will also lead to a delay in the launch of the project, expected to be completed this year.
