A criminal group in Vinnytsia has been uncovered, which has seized the land shares of deceased people

According to glavcom.ua: A criminal group has been uncovered in Vinnytsia, which seized nearly 50 hectares of land shares belonging to deceased individuals. This scheme was devised by a lawyer who involved two officials from the village council of the Khmelnytskyi region in his criminal activities. This was reported by the police of Vinnytsia.

«The organizer obtained information about the list of land plots (shares) whose owners had no heirs. From 2022 to 2024, at the direction of the lawyer, the village head and the clerk, using their official powers, provided false information in the documentation, forged duplicates of wills, and entered false information into the registers», – the report states.

As a result, it turned out that 11 individuals illegally became owners of 19 plots of land with an area of almost 50 hectares and an estimated value of over 4 million hryvnias. For these crimes, the defendants face up to eight years of imprisonment along with the confiscation of property.

Detention and Charges

On July 15, a 38-year-old organizer was detained in a procedural manner. He and his accomplices were notified of suspicion of committing a number of criminal offenses as part of an organized group, including various frauds, forgery of documents, and legalization of illegally obtained property. The court decided to keep the suspect in custody with the right to post bail, while the officials were placed under house arrest.

As a result of the investigation, it was established that the criminal group operated for several years, seizing land shares from those who had no heirs. The organizer, his accomplices, and the officials of the village council face serious penalties for their crimes.
