According to glavcom.ua: The executive committee of the Kivertsi city council refused to rebury serviceman Yuriy Torbich from Volyn at the Alley of Glory in the city cemetery. His daughter Inna Torbich wanted to carry out exhumation but was denied. This information was disseminated by the publication 'Hlavkom' based on materials from 'Public'.

Yuriy Torbich was a participant in the ATO, serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2022-2023. The deceased was not at the Alley of Glory as he was in the SZCH. His daughter contacted local authorities requesting to rebury her father at the appropriate place.

The situation with Yuriy Torbich's burial

Inna Torbich spoke about the circumstances of her father's death, who was buried without military honors due to the non-fulfillment of official duties. They tried to officially dismiss Yuriy from service but did not receive permission due to guardianship over his mother. The government denied the reburial, explaining it by the absence of a new burial place and the lack of consent from relatives.

The position of the city council

The deputy mayor noted that the burial complied with the legislation, and decisions regarding military honors are made by local authorities in agreement with the family of the deceased. Torbich's mother is still alive, which also influenced the decision made.

ATO participant Yuriy Torbich from Volyn will not be reburied at the Alley of Glory of the city cemetery after the refusal of the executive committee. The local authorities' decision has caused disputes due to the non-fulfillment of official duties and personal reasons that led to the unworthy burial of the war participant.
