YouTube introduces multilingual audio for everyone: how it will change video viewing
According to glavcom.ua: YouTube expands its audio narration capabilities
The video hosting platform YouTube has announced that the multilingual audio narration feature is now available to all content creators. Previously, this feature was accessible only to select bloggers as part of a pilot program launched in 2023.
According to data from the YouTube blog, the expansion of audio narration capabilities has helped popular creators like MrBeast and Mark Rober attract millions of new viewers worldwide. Interestingly, more than a quarter of the total watch time for videos with multiple audio tracks comes from views in languages that are not the primary ones for the channels.
With this new feature, now when a creator from the USA releases a new video, viewers from Korea, Brazil, or India will be able to watch it immediately in their native language. This will significantly facilitate the global distribution of content and overcome language barriers.
Additionally, YouTube has begun testing a new feature that will allow creators to add co-creators to their videos. This tool aims to increase the popularity of channels and enhance interaction between audiences of different creators.
In the long run, these innovations could significantly expand the audience for foreign-language content on YouTube and make the platform more accessible and interesting for viewers around the world.
