The first anti-drone road 6.5 km long has been built in Zaporizhzhia
The construction of the first anti-drone tunnel has been completed in the Orikhiv direction, located in Zaporizhzhia. This was announced by the head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, during a briefing, calling this project ambitious and aimed at protecting against attacks by Russian drones, specifically of the FPV type.
«We have already built the first anti-drone road on the Orikhiv highway, which is 6.5 km long. We have an ambitious plan to construct more than 200 km of such safe routes,» Fedorov emphasized.
This project was implemented in collaboration with the Zaporizhzhia military brigade, which provided its combat experience for the construction. The anti-drone tunnel is designed to ensure the safety of civilians and military personnel while moving along sections of roads that often come under fire.
The Ukrainian engineering troops are actively working to establish anti-drone corridors on logistics routes along the entire front line. The first anti-drone corridor in the Defense Forces was created in early 2025 to protect key routes from the constant threat of enemy drones.
Protective screens, so-called nets, began appearing in the Armed Forces of Ukraine as early as late 2022. These measures are intended to protect against drone attacks, and their effectiveness has already been confirmed in practice, particularly in the case of a Russian drone attempting to attack an artillery installation.
The first anti-drone tunnel in Zaporizhzhia and other measures to establish anti-drone corridors indicate that the Ukrainian army is actively implementing modern technologies to protect against aerial attacks and maintain security at the border with the foreign enemy.
