Investigation of anti-corruption cases

According to НАБУ: The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) have opened materials in the case regarding the former head of one of the departments of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. He is suspected of extorting 1.3 million US dollars from the developer for winning a competition to build housing for the military in Kyiv.

According to information, the money was supposed to be transferred in parts through bank cells. However, the developer reduced the amount to 1 million dollars and has already provided the first part of the unlawful benefit. After this, the accomplices of the official were notified of suspicion. The investigation is ongoing.

Fight against corruption in Ukraine

This case is yet another example of the fight of the Ukrainian authorities against corruption, which remains one of the biggest problems in the country. Extortion of funds in state tenders undermines trust in state institutions and can affect the effectiveness of implementing important social projects, including the construction of housing for the military.

Further investigations may reveal new facts and individuals involved in this criminal activity.
