The NBU denied the fake about the new 5000 hryvnia banknote: what it really is
According to hvylya.net: The National Bank of Ukraine informed citizens about the spread of fake information regarding the 'new 5000 hryvnia banknote'. A photo of the bill appeared, but it is merely a model created for demonstration. The NBU explained that such a banknote will not be put into circulation. Presentation banknotes are used only for souvenirs and are marked with the appropriate inscription. Currently, a monetary reform is underway, which involves replacing kopecks with 'hryvnias' to avoid additional costs for minting equipment. The NBU warns of potential inflation risks due to counterfeit banknotes, especially 500-hryvnia ones. In the future, there are plans to replace cash among the population with digital means of payment.
