Ukraine to purchase 55 locomotives from Alstom: first deliveries in 2027

According to Кулеба: Today, Ukrzaliznytsia announced the signing of an agreement with the French company Alstom for the supply of 55 new freight locomotives. This is a significant achievement for Ukraine, as old locomotives have become a barrier to the development of the country's logistics.

The project is funded by international financial institutions, and the first locomotives are expected to arrive in the country in 2027. The signing of this agreement also opens up new opportunities for Ukrainian manufacturers who will be involved in the service cycle and maintenance.

“Such support from the French company is crucial for Ukraine, especially in times of war. It is important for us to develop our infrastructure and integrate into the European transport space,” said a representative of Ukrzaliznytsia.

Ukraine expressed gratitude for this opportunity to cooperate with Alstom, emphasizing its interest in further developing cooperation in the future. The involvement of Ukrainian manufacturers in the servicing and repair of the company's locomotives is also planned.
