According to Главком: On February 4, a Ukrainian military recruitment officer was attacked while checking documents in Odesa's Mechnikov Street area. The assailant used a tear gas agent and stabbed the officer before fleeing the scene. These recruitment centers, known as TCCs, are responsible for mobilization and have become focal points of societal tension during the ongoing war. The injured serviceman was hospitalized and is reported to be in stable condition.

Police have launched an investigation into the assault. According to a statement from the Odesa Regional TCC press service,

"an individual used a tear gas agent and inflicted a knife wound on one of the servicemen before disappearing from the scene."

A Series of Similar Attacks Across Ukraine

This incident is part of a concerning pattern of attacks against military recruitment personnel in several Ukrainian regions:

• On February 2 in Lviv's Shevchenkivskyi district, a 44-year-old local woman assaulted a TCC representative using an air gun.
• In the Cherkasy region, a man attacked and stabbed a TCC representative.
• In Vinnytsia Oblast, a 46-year-old resident assaulted an officer with a sharp, awl-like object, striking him in the leg.

Police are continuing their investigations into these assaults and are implementing measures to enhance the safety of military personnel. Under the Criminal Code of Ukraine, intentional violence against officials carries a penalty of 7 to 12 years imprisonment. If an attack results in death, the sentence ranges from 10 to 15 years or life imprisonment.

These attacks highlight a growing threat to military and recruitment officials in Ukraine. They point to underlying social strains and underscore the urgent need for strengthened security protocols. Law enforcement and authorities must take immediate action to prevent future incidents, ensuring the safety of both military personnel and the general public.
