According to Главком: On December 25, an attack occurred in the Kyiv metro at the Kontraktova Ploshcha station, resulting in two passengers being injured by a knife. The attacker, a 35-year-old man from Kyiv, was detained by the police at the scene. One of the victims suffered a cut to the face, while the other sustained an injury to the arm. Both injured individuals were hospitalized for medical assistance.
A criminal proceeding has been initiated regarding this incident under part 4 of article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of this article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to seven years. It is known that the man had previously been convicted of beating a passerby to death, for which he received eight years in prison.

The Bucha District Police Department in Kyiv region is also conducting a pre-trial investigation regarding a brawl among teenagers in Irpin. However, the details of this incident are not related to the metro attack.
