President Volodymyr Zelensky outlined the main tasks of Ukrainian diplomacy for 2023.

The task needs to be implemented to ensure that the next year becomes victorious. Zelensky stated this today at the conference of Ukrainian ambassadors.

The president listed the tasks:

- initiating negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union;

- preparing for the NATO summit and ensuring specific results;

- receiving assistance in defense and security;

- receiving help in restoring energy after Russian strikes;

- obtaining international assistance under the Quick Recovery Plan for Ukraine;

- imposing new sanctions against the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, blocking Russian assets worldwide;

- establishing an international tribunal regarding the crime of aggression and war crimes of the Russian Federation;

- protecting Ukrainian refugees and assisting in their return home.

'Implementing all the tasks mentioned is not just a specific plan of action for the next year. This is our victory, these are elements of that victory. By accomplishing specific tasks, we accelerate the victory for Ukraine, we accelerate the victory for our people,' said Zelensky.

On June 23 at the summit in Brussels, all 27 EU member states decided to grant Ukraine and Moldova candidate status for joining the bloc.

By the end of 2024, Ukraine plans to be fully prepared for EU membership, stated Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

Ukraine's strategic course towards EU and NATO membership is enshrined in the Constitution. The majority of Ukrainians support Ukraine's accession to NATO and the EU.
