Tokyo is once again the richest city in the world: who is in the top three
The capital of Japan, Tokyo, ranked first in the list of the 300 richest cities in the world. According to Ceoworld Magazine, Tokyo has the largest GDP in the world, amounting to $2.55 trillion. This is not the first time Japan has been crowned in this ranking. New York ranked second with a GDP of $2.49 trillion, while Los Angeles came in third with a GDP of $1.62 trillion.
After Tokyo, New York, and Los Angeles, the richest cities in the world included London ($1.47 trillion), Seoul ($1.42 trillion), and Paris ($1.39 trillion). The study showed that the top ten cities in this ranking account for approximately one-third of the world's total GDP.
Resonance Consultancy released its annual ranking of 'The Best Cities in the World 2026', where London took the first place. New York and Paris also made it into the top three. Previously, Athens was recognized as the best city in Europe for a car-free holiday due to its good public transport and pedestrian zones.
Europe continues to be a popular destination for tourists, and Spain has emerged as the most popular country among travelers. A report by eDreams ODIGEO showed that four Spanish cities were among the top 10 most popular destinations.
The research revealed that Tokyo is the richest city in the world with the highest GDP, confirming Japan's significance in the economic world. Further analysis also showed that European cities hold leading positions in the list of the best for vacation and tourism, with great popularity among travelers.
