Consequences of the rains in Lviv region

According to glavcom.ua: Heavy rains struck the Lviv region, causing the Shchyrka and Zubra rivers to overflow their banks in the Lviv district. This was reported by the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Maksym Kozytskiy.

As a result of the flooding, the highway 'Lviv - Pustomyty - Medeinichi', 22 streets, approximately 180 automobiles, and 200 residential houses in the settlements of Sknyliv, Zubra, Sokilnyky, and Zymna Voda were affected. Water also entered a kindergarten and an outpatient clinic in Sokilnyky.

Recovery efforts

Nine streets and 25 roofs were flooded in Lviv, with issues reported concerning traffic lights. Efforts to eliminate the consequences of the downpour are underway, and transport movements are being actively restored. Over 44 thousand subscribers remain without electricity supply.

«The largest amount of precipitation fell in Lviv. Streets and roofs in the city are flooded. Rescue operations are ongoing,» emphasized Kozytskiy.

If the situation worsens, emergency measures are ready, as stated by the regional center for disease control and prevention. Quality measurements of drinking water continue, and preventive measures are being carried out.

The head of the regional state administration urges the public to be attentive, monitor water levels, and follow instructions during adverse weather conditions.

After the heavy rains in the Lviv region, which resulted in many settlements and streets being flooded, the elimination of the consequences continues, and transport movement is being restored. The public is urged to be vigilant and follow instructions in case of worsening weather conditions.
