Unpaid pensions of 'lost' IDPs will be taken: where to direct billions from the accounts
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to transfer pension funds of internally displaced persons from Oschadbank to the Pension Fund of Ukraine. This concerns pensioners with IDP status who lost contact with the bank due to the invasion in 2022. The government made this decision to address the issues of pension funds for people who, due to the war, remained in temporarily occupied territories and lost contact with the bank. Currently, over 10 billion hryvnias have been collected in Oschadbank accounts of pensioners that remained inactive due to clients' inactivity. The Pension Fund of Ukraine will compile lists of pensioners for further transfer to Oschadbank. After that, funds will be transferred according to a specific schedule agreed upon with the National Bank and the Ministry of Finance. To receive pensions, one must submit an application to the Pension Fund in person, through the PFU web portal, or at Oschadbank during identification. The amounts will be paid out once to a bank account. After passing physical identification, the funds will remain in the bank and will not be transferred to the PFU.
