Dynamo signs 20-year-old Nigerian midfielder: contract details

According to glavcom.ua: The football club 'Dynamo' (Kyiv) announced that it has signed a 4-year contract with 20-year-old Nigerian midfielder Shola Ogunthana. The information was conveyed by the club's press service, referring to 'Glavkom'.

Shola was born on February 22, 2005, in Nigeria and began playing football in local academies. After successful performances at the Torneo di Viareggio 2022 tournament, he attracted the attention of scouts and moved to the Brazilian club 'Flamengo'. Now he will continue his career at 'Dynamo'.

For his explosive speed and aggressive playing style on the field, Ogunthana earned the nickname 'Nigerian Rocket'.

At 'Flamengo', Shola became part of the youth team, made his debut in the Brazilian Serie A, and earned several awards. Now he is moving to Ukraine to play for 'Dynamo'.

On August 29, the draw for the main round of the Conference League took place in Monaco, during which 'Shakhtar' and 'Dynamo' learned about their next opponents. The Kyiv team was placed in the second pot, while the miners were in the first. 'Shakhtar' will play against Legia, Shamrock, Rijeka, Aberdeen, Breidablik, and Hamrun.
