Нові імміграційні вимоги Іспанії у 2026 році: важливі аспекти для українських працівників та їх сімей.

Spain's Updated Immigration Legislation

According to ХВИЛЯ: Revised immigration laws will take effect in Spain in 2026, simplifying the processes for work, study, and family reunification for foreigners, including citizens of Ukraine. The legislation, developed since 2024, is expected to significantly ease the situation for many migrants. This reform aligns with broader European efforts to manage migration more efficiently and humanely.

Under the new rules, the most straightforward route to legal employment involves securing a contract with a Spanish company while still in one's home country. Ukraine is among the nations with which Spain has established relevant interstate agreements, creating favorable conditions for Ukrainian nationals seeking work. Foreign students who graduate from Spanish educational institutions will be granted a two-year period to seek employment after receiving their diploma.

Family Reunification Requirements

To qualify for family reunification, a migrant must have resided legally in the country for at least one year and possess a valid residence permit for a minimum of one additional year. Mandatory conditions for reuniting families include:

  • proof of sufficient financial resources;
  • adequate housing.

The legislation also allows for the reunification with an unmarried partner, provided there is evidence of a stable, long-term cohabitation. Migrants can bring children under the age of 18, and age restrictions do not apply to children with disabilities.

Informing the public about the changes, the authors of the reform noted that

the new rules are designed to make procedures faster and more transparent.

This innovation will undoubtedly play a crucial role in facilitating the migration process for foreigners seeking new opportunities in Spain.

The introduction of this new immigration framework in Spain reflects global trends toward simplifying migration and integrating foreigners into society. Streamlining employment and family reunification rules could positively impact the country's economy, as new workers contribute to the development of various sectors. Furthermore, this reform represents a significant step in supporting Ukrainian migrants who are searching for stability and new opportunities following the challenging period related to the conflict in Ukraine.
