Zelensky Introduced New Sanctions: 56 Russian Vessels Targeted

According to glavcom.ua: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree introducing sanctions against Russia. This action indeed harms the Russian military machine, as the vessels carry stolen Ukrainian products, helping to fund the war in Donbas. The sanctions will last for a full 10 years.

Participants of the meeting of the 'coalition of willing' stand on the position of maintaining sanctions against Russia until the country reduces its military activity. Issues regarding the strengthening of Ukraine's defense capabilities and signing a memorandum on the deployment of deterrent forces are also being considered.

Ukraine has joined the Executive Council of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons for the years 2026-2028 alongside Slovakia and Slovenia. The government official noted that Russia's actions would not affect the decisions of the OPCW.

Regarding other international issues, the Deputy Secretary General of NATO arrived in Kyiv to discuss increasing contributions to the Purl initiative and needs for strengthening Ukraine's air defense. A visit by President Zelensky to the USA is planned to discuss ending the war and signing an agreement discussed in Geneva.
