New electricity tariff from 2026: why 4.32 hryvnias will remain until April
New electricity tariff in Ukraine
According to ХВИЛЯ: Starting from January 1, 2026, a new electricity tariff will be introduced in Ukraine, which will remain at the level of 4.32 hryvnias per kilowatt-hour until April 30, 2026. This tariff, applicable to the population, will not change at least until the specified date. The previously established deadline for the special obligations mechanism (PPO) has been changed from October 31, 2025, to April 30, 2026, allowing for a stable electricity price during this period.
Expected increase in tariffs
After the specified deadline, it is expected that the tariff may rise to 6.64 hryvnias per kilowatt-hour. At the same time, in the long term, further increases in the tariff to 9 hryvnias are also possible. This raises concerns among consumers, as changes in electricity tariffs will directly impact household expenditures.
The introduction of the new electricity tariff in 2026 is an important step towards ensuring stability in Ukraine's energy market. Long-term forecasting of potential price increases raises concerns, as it may affect the financial situation of many households and businesses. Consumers should be prepared for possible changes in their electricity expenses in the coming years.
