OSCE to Host Journalist Safety Training in Zakarpattia: How to Apply
Training Program on Physical and Digital Security for Journalists
According to МВС: The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), in partnership with Ukrainian state bodies, is inviting journalists to a training session on physical and digital security. The event, titled 'Physical and Digital Security for Journalists in Wartime,' is scheduled to take place in Zakarpattia from April 21 to 25, 2026. This initiative is part of broader international efforts to support press freedom and safety in conflict zones.
The training is organized by the following entities:
- The OSCE
- The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine
- The Committee on Freedom of Speech
- The SBU's Cybersecurity Situation Center
- The National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting
The program is open to journalists, editors, and media managers, with priority given to those working in front-line regions.
Curriculum and Application Details
Participants will receive practical instruction in digital and physical security, as well as protocols for operating in hazardous areas. The curriculum will also emphasize adherence to ethical standards and professional accountability. The registration deadline for the training is March 22, 2026.
This training represents a critical step in safeguarding journalists who operate under wartime conditions and heightened risk.
