Annual In-Person Verification Required for Pension Recipients Living Abroad by December 31
Verification Process for Pension Beneficiaries Residing Outside Ukraine
According to Пенсії (RSS): Ukrainian pensioners who are living abroad temporarily must complete an annual in-person verification by December 31 each year. This requirement applies to citizens who spend at least 183 days outside Ukraine within a calendar year, as well as to those granted temporary protection or refugee status due to the Russian Federation's aggression, who have not registered for permanent residence abroad.
Available Methods for Completing Verification
There are three options for fulfilling the physical verification requirement:
- Online verification through the 'Diia.Signature' (Diia ID) platform.
- Verification via videoconference.
- In-person verification at Ukrainian diplomatic missions abroad.
To assist pension recipients, detailed guidance and results related to the verification process are available through designated resources.
This measure aims to maintain strict oversight of pension payments and prevent fraudulent claims. Given the challenges posed by ongoing conflict and the significant displacement of Ukrainians abroad, the legislation has been adjusted to accommodate these circumstances. Notably, remote verification options simplify compliance for those unable to return to Ukraine in person.
