«All consumers who were left without power due to bad weather in Odesa are now connected to the electricity supply. The energy workers have restored power to 56.6 thousand households in 174 settlements of our region. Currently, there are no mass outages. Specialists are working on individual targeted requests. We thank the energy workers for their prompt and coordinated work, and the residents for their patience», – he wrote.
Let us remind you that on September 30, Odesa was hit by record rains caused by a slow local cyclone over the Black Sea. In one day, 94 mm of precipitation fell in the city, which is 224% of the monthly norm.
Forecasters explain that the anticyclone blocked the movement of the cyclone, exacerbating atmospheric fronts and causing local downpours, and due to the risk of flooding, the warning level was raised to red.
As a result of the natural disaster, almost 800 houses were damaged in Odesa, and 10 people died. Rescue and communal services are working around the clock, with over 3,000 people and 660 units of equipment involved in eliminating the consequences. Among the dead are workers of the Odesa Regional Military Administration and 'Ukrzaliznytsia.'
