Odesa Film Festival Announces Winners: Who Won the Golden Duke

The closing ceremony of the 16th Odesa International Film Festival took place on October 3 in Kyiv. The festival lasted from September 24 to October 4 and presented audiences with 113 films. During the final event, winners in two competitive programs and the industry section were announced. This was reported on the OIFF website with reference to «Glavkom».

Winners of the Festival

The main prize – the «Grand Prix», was awarded to the Ukrainian film «You are the Cosmos» directed by Pavlo Ostrikov. This film also received a Special Diploma from the International Jury.

In the European competitive program, the best European film was recognized as «Six Days in Spring» directed by Joaquim Lafosse.

Ukrainian Section

The Ukrainian section awarded the best Ukrainian films:

• The best Ukrainian documentary film was «Simple Soldier» by Artem Ryzhikov and Juan Camilo Cruz.
• «Simple Soldier» received a diploma from the International Federation of Film Critics, while the films «Dad's Lullaby» and «The Music of Being» were awarded special diplomas.

Winners were also determined in the industry section Film Industry Office, where the films «Each Death Reduces Me» and «Session with the Psychologist» were awarded.

The closing ceremony of the 16th Odesa Film Festival brought victory to the Ukrainian film «You are the Cosmos» and several other films by Ukrainian directors in various nominations. The festival concluded with great success, attracting attention to cinema not only in Ukraine but also abroad.
