A scandal occurred in Donetsk involving soldiers who, instead of performing combat missions, worked for their commander's family and sold shawarma. According to the report from the State Bureau of Investigation, they built and maintained a food kiosk for almost two years.

'According to the investigation, for almost two years, the deputy commander forced two servicemen to carry out construction and household work in his household. Additionally, they constructed and maintained a shawarma sales kiosk that belonged to the officer's wife. The woman effectively managed their 'service' — distributed duties and controlled earnings,' the SBI reported.

Thus, instead of defending the country, the servicemen spent their time selling shawarma, earning money for inflated prices from fabricated combat actions. This led to financial losses for the state amounting to over 4 million hryvnias. The case has been sent to court.

Events in Donetsk indicate that the military used their official position for personal gain, thereby losing the opportunity to fulfill their combat obligations. Such actions harmed not only military discipline but also caused serious financial damage to the state.
