Pope Leo XIV and the bishops of the UGCC prayed together for Ukraine
According to glavcom.ua: On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, a meeting of the Synod of Bishops of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) with Pope Leo XIV took place in the Hall of Consistories of the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican. During the meeting, the Holy Father expressed his support for the Ukrainian people, emphasizing their faith and hope during the war.
During the meeting, Pope Leo XIV recalled a previous meeting with Ukrainian pilgrims and highlighted the need for hope in the life of every person based on faith in God. He also noted the difficulties faced by the bishops of the UGCC and urged them to be servants of Christ for those in need of assistance.
"Of course, in such important historical times, it is difficult to find hope for you and those entrusted to you," the Pope noted.
In conclusion of the meeting, the Head of the UGCC invited the Pope to visit Ukraine, expressing confidence in the prayers of Ukrainians. In turn, Pope Leo XIV promised that he also prays for Ukraine and its people daily.
