Pension in Germany for Ukrainians: How many years must you work mandatory
Ukrainians who moved to Germany due to the war are starting to inquire about the possibility of receiving a pension in their new country. To receive a German pension, they will need to work and pay contributions to the Pension Fund for at least 5 years. The individual calculation of the pension amount will depend on earnings and work activity. It is also worth noting that the retirement age in Germany is rising, which may affect future pension payments.
'To retire in Germany, one must make insurance contributions for at least five years. Therefore, to receive a German pension, Ukrainians need to be officially employed and pay contributions to the German Pension Fund for 5 years.'
