Pensions for Ukrainians in August: What Will Change in Payments
According to hvylya.net: In August 2025, Ukrainian pensioners will receive payments at the levels established at the beginning of the year after the March indexation. The minimum pensions remain at the level of 2361 to 3200 hryvnias, depending on the category of the recipient.
Why Do Pension Amounts Differ?
According to information from Oboz.ua, the basic minimal pension will be 2361 hryvnia, but the amount of payment will depend on age and work experience. Pensioners aged 65 and older with 30 years of experience will have a minimum payment of 3200 hryvnias, which equals 40% of the minimum wage.
'The tenure requirement in this case is - 30 years for women and 35 years for men,' the source reports.
Thus, the difference between the regular minimum pension and the payment for those aged 65+ is 839 hryvnias per month.
Additional Payments by Age
Older pensioners will also receive additional allowances automatically: +300 hryvnias at ages 70-74, +456 hryvnias at ages 75-79, and +570 hryvnias at ages 80+. No application to the Pension Fund is required to obtain these payments.
Prospects for 2026
Next year, an increase in the minimum pension to 2564 hryvnias and a maximum pension to 25,640 hryvnias is planned according to the Budget Declaration for 2026-2028. Pensioners with full work experience will receive 3475.2 hryvnias, considering the planned increase in the minimum wage.
Pension increases are forecasted: 2715 hryvnias in 2027 and 2859 hryvnias in 2028, but experts point out that they may be insufficient compared to actual expenses.
Ukrainian pensioners will receive payments according to the new levels starting from August 2025. Minimum pensions remain high, and elderly citizens will also receive additional payments depending on their age. Pension payments will grow in the coming years, but experts cautiously note that they may be insufficient to cover the real expenses of pensioners.
