The Pension Fund of Ukraine reminds about state social assistance for low-income families, which is assigned based on the average monthly income. This assistance is available for families whose average monthly total income is below the subsistence minimum. The amount of assistance is determined as the difference between the subsistence minimum and the average monthly income of the family. The maximum amount of assistance cannot exceed the subsistence minimum calculated according to the composition of the family.

Term and Conditions for Receiving Assistance

The term for granting assistance is six months from the month of application. The payment of assistance is automatically extended for the next six-month period if the requirements are met. This means that families can receive assistance for a long time as long as their income remains below the subsistence minimum.

To receive assistance, it is necessary to submit an application. The application can be submitted at the service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, through the PFU web portal, the 'Dii' portal, the 'Pension Fund' mobile application, through authorized persons of local self-government bodies, at the CNAP, or by mail. The necessary package of documents includes:

• an identity document;
• an income declaration;
• an income certificate;
• an income certificate for six months prior to the application;
• a combatant participant certificate, if available.
