How the Pension Fund Communicates Video-Based Identity Verification Results
Updated Procedure for In-Person Identity Verification
According to Пенсії (RSS): The Pension Fund of Ukraine has introduced a new method for verifying the identity of pensioners and recipients of social benefits through video conferencing. This initiative was established by the Pension Fund's Board Resolution No. 49-2 dated November 20, 2023, which was officially registered with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on December 5, 2023, under registration number 2111/41167.
Under the revised procedure, a decision confirming or denying the recipient’s identity must be made within 10 days following the video call session. Notification of the verification outcome will be sent within three business days after the decision is finalized. These results will be delivered either via the email provided in the application or can be accessed through the user’s personal account on the Pension Fund’s online portal.
Tracking Your Identity Verification Status
Users can monitor the current status of their identity verification in the 'My Identification' section of their personal account. Those who have yet to complete this process should note that the deadline to finish physical identity verification is the end of 2026. To assist users, a video tutorial on how to use the service is available, along with additional detailed information on the Pension Fund’s official website.
This modernization aims to simplify access to pensions and social assistance, particularly benefiting individuals living in remote areas or those with limited access to Pension Fund offices. Utilizing video conferencing for identity checks also helps reduce the risk of fraud related to social benefit claims. Importantly, all beneficiaries who have not completed identity verification have until the close of 2026 to comply, allowing ample time to adapt to the new system.
