How Ukraine Is Funding Social Benefits
According to Пенсії (RSS): As of June 19, 2023, the total amount of social payments financed in Ukraine reached substantial levels. Specifically, UAH 62.3 billion was allocated for pensions, with UAH 8.9 billion paid through Ukrposhta JSC and UAH 53.4 billion via authorized banks.
Additionally, UAH 1.4 billion went toward housing subsidies and benefits, while UAH 2.8 billion covered insurance payments-half of which (UAH 1.4 billion) was designated for sick leave. Social assistance and other payments accounted for UAH 10.5 billion.
Services Provided by Ukraine's Pension Fund
During June, the Pension Fund of Ukraine delivered 1,130,500 services to individuals seeking support.
These large-scale disbursements highlight the government's ongoing efforts to maintain social safety nets amid a challenging economic environment. Pension and social aid payments are critical for sustaining citizens' well-being, especially given the crises facing the country. They also underscore the vital role state agencies play in delivering assistance to those in need.
